Did Senator McCain vote for the bailout bill Wednesday night knowing that he'd hate himself in the morning? Did he hope that calling it a "rescue" would change his conscience's view of the thing? All hopes must have been in vain, for here is extraordinary footage from Thursday's "Morning Joe" program on MSNBC in which the Arizonan baffles the hosts by denouncing the bill for which he had voted Aye hours ago. Wait for about the 4:45 mark for him to really go off the rails.
Was McCain merely cursing the necessity, which he never acknowledged during the interview, of the bailout? Was he expressing some form of monstrous cynicism? Or was he simply losing more of his marbles? Figure it out for yourselves, my friends, because I don't think I can help you with this one.
