I, for one have no problem with drilling for oil there but only under the condition that all profits from it go directly to the American people, not the oil companies. If you want to take our national parks away, give us something in return.<BR/>2) Even if the oil companies are allowed to drill and find a huge source of oil, it still needs to be refined. Which means the oil would be sold to Japan or other country to refine, then sold back to us at inflated prices as petroleum products.<BR/><BR/>Seems to me that a better answer would be to either nationalize the oil industry, removing the profit motive, or take oil off the commodities market, eliminating the speculators who artificially drive the price up.<BR/><BR/>Of course, I think the best solution to the problem would be a socialist uprising of the working class and put an end to the oligarchy that is taking over our government.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
