Just the inclination of people on both sides to point at the failures of the opposition and insist that "proves" the opposition are losers, meanwhile ignoring all failures on their own side.

Not that it matters, since the average American seems only interested in fun, inebriation and escapism. The Titanic is sinking and the crew is too busy seeking a scapegoat to save the passengers.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8820814198873126054.post-17349998721980978182013-11-11T20:55:29.770-05:002013-11-11T20:55:29.770-05:00I had neglected to mention that ideologues often f...I had neglected to mention that ideologues often fall back on sabotage as an excuse for their failures. But why should Republicans accept responsibility for the shortcomings of the thing they opposed all along? The answer would be that at some point they should be obliged to cooperate toward making it work, but it doesn't seem like the American system ever imposes that obligation upon the opposition. As long as they don't break statutory law, they get to resist and resist and resist, while liberals allow it because they want the same right to resist when power changes hands. Meanwhile, the problem with Obamacare is that its successes may only be apparent over time, while the website remains a mess right now. Completely ignoring all successes. Conversely, this type of individuals will always ignore or excuse the failures of ideology he/she supports and only emphasizes the successes?

In the case of "Obamacare", the right-wingers made it blatantly clear that they would do everything within their power to sabotage any efforts at creating a public healthcare system. Of course it was bound to be a disaster. Yet they will claim/accept absolutely no responsibility for the debacle the (so-called) Affordable Healthcare Act has become.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
