It isn't there. It is a figment of the imagination of people who feel "entitled" to a dream.

Regardless of what Mr. Jefferson may have believed or rather, what others may believe Mr. Jefferson believed, the United States was not started as a means or method of ensuring an "American Dream".

The United States was started as a nation where the citizenry would be guaranteed representation in government. Every civilized culture (and probably those who aren't) believe in the idea of a work ethic.

The problem is, those who control the paychecks are not concerned with the welfare of those who do the work, but they expect the labor to keep the welfare and best interests of the "company" or "corporation" at heart. In other words: slavery.

Mr. Thomas and the other misanthropes on the right need to understand, in no uncertain terms, that the left do not feel a sense of "entitlement". We ask for what is our just due and no more.

Those on top should not feel entitled to live in the lap of luxury while the majority of the labor class have trouble making ends meet, let alone dreaming of luxuries.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
